SubLands Guide

Everything you need to know about the Twitch-interactive Minecraft territory game.

🚀Getting Started

SubLands is a Twitch-interactive game where viewers claim land, build, form alliances, and wage war on a live Minecraft server. Here is how to join:

1

Follow the Twitch Channel

Following the channel automatically registers you as a SubLands player. You'll be given a starting plot of land.

2

Choose Your Starting Area

After following, you have 60 minutes to pick where your 3×3 starting plot goes on the map. Visit the Map page and click to place your territory. If you don't choose in time, a spot will be assigned for you.

3

Link Your Minecraft Account

Go to the Link Account page and enter your Minecraft Java Edition username. You'll receive a 6-digit verification code.

4

Verify on the MC Server

Join the Minecraft server and type /sl verify <your-code> in chat. This proves you own the account. You have 24 hours to complete verification.

🏞Your Territory

Starting Plot

3×3 blocks

Game Mode

Survival

You can build freely within your territory in Survival mode

Map

Interactive

View all territories on the live map at the Map page

Each block on the map represents a 16\u00d716 area in Minecraft. Your territory is color-coded and visible to all players. You can only build within blocks you own.

📈Expanding Your Land

Grow your territory by supporting the stream. There are two ways to expand:

Gift Subs

1 sub = 1 block

Each gifted sub expands your territory by one block

Channel Points

50,000 pts = 1 block

Redeem channel points to claim new blocks

Water Crossing

10 subs

Expanding across water costs 10 subs instead of 1

How Pre-Selection Works

On the map, you can pre-select which tiles you want to expand into. When subs or channel points come in, they automatically fill your pre-selected tiles in order. If you have no tiles pre-selected, sub credits accumulate on your account and can be used later.

🛡Defense

Protect your territory from attacks by strengthening your defenses.

Donate Bits

100 bits = +0.1 wall defense

Bits increase your wall defense, making tiles harder to capture

Fences

Automatic

Fences appear on your territory borders automatically in Minecraft

Encirclement

-50% defense

If all neighboring tiles are owned by enemies, your defense drops by half

Defense Layers

Each tile has two layers of defense: wall defense (from bits) and tile defense (base 1.0). Attackers must break through the wall first, then the tile defense to capture a block. Higher defense = more attack power needed to take your land.

Combat & Attacks

Territory warfare is a core part of SubLands. Players can attack each other to capture land.

  1. Plan an Attack: Select a target player on the map and choose which of their tiles to attack.
  2. Power Your Attack: Gift subs to build attack power.
  3. Resolution: The attack resolves automatically. Attack power is applied against wall defense first, then tile defense.
  4. Capture: If tile defense reaches zero, the tile is captured and becomes yours.

Tip: Attack tiles that are encircled for maximum effect, as their defense is halved.

🤝Alliances

Form alliances with other players for mutual protection.

Cooldown

5 minutes

Wait time between forming new alliances

Benefits: Allied players cannot attack each other. Shared borders show friendly fences.

Breaking Alliances: Breaking an alliance gives you a defense debuff of 0.5x for 24 hours. Think carefully before betraying your allies!

🔥Streaks & Decay

Stay active to keep your territory. Inactive players lose land over time.

Chat daily during stream

Maintain your streak by chatting in the Twitch channel at least once per stream day.

Miss a day = streak broken

When your streak breaks, you lose 1 block per day until you chat again. Outermost blocks are lost first.

💀

Lose all blocks = death

If you lose every block, your territory is removed. But you can return by chatting in stream again to get a new starting plot!

💰Auction House

Trade resources with other players using gold. Mine items in your territory, deposit them into your virtual inventory, and list them for sale.

1

Mine Resources

Break blocks within your territory in Minecraft. You can mine ores, stone, wood, and other resources in survival mode.

2

Deposit Items

Hold items in your main hand in-game and type /sl deposit [amount]. Items are securely transferred to your virtual inventory.

3

List on the Auction House

Visit the Market page, go to the Sell tab, select items from your inventory, set a starting bid and optional buyout price. A 5% listing fee is charged.

4

Bid or Buy

Browse listings and place bids or use buyout for instant purchase. Gold is escrowed when you bid and released if outbid.

Gold Economy

  • Every player starts with 500 gold
  • Gold is earned by selling items on the Auction House
  • Bidding locks gold in escrow (released if outbid)
  • Listing fee is 5% of starting bid (non-refundable)
  • Auctions last 24 hours with a 5-minute anti-snipe window
